Everything we can sense in the light has the bright side and dark side, the highlight and shadow at the same time. Generally, our eyes go to the bright side first. However, some people catch the darkness first. I also see the dark side first and then get the substance of the light clearly later. With the darkness I can feel the brightness much stronger. Light and darkness drag each other as well as push out the other way. It is very difficult for two aspects to coexist, but they always live together.
One day, I was chasing a subject with my camera under some obsession. Pressing my shutter continuously. Shooting, shooting and shooting… The subject was a black mass stepping down to the subway. I got the image! Because I shot on move in the dark subway, the images were blurred, dark and out of focus. But wow! I got it!
After that, I have tried to hunt for the black masses in everywhere. At dusk, I saw the structures through the window in a bus. There were overpasses, highways, other buildings, and crunching people between them. All objects, even people and my camera were shaking and moving. Minimum light was required for the picture to make black masses, not for taking pictures. The objects in the dark came to me so clearly and intensely than in lights. Why that happened?
